Loud, Proud and Loyal Champions...

CHAMPIONS!
They were tagged as ‘Loud Noisy Neighbours’ by their bitter rival, United. They are ‘Proud’ because they have been ‘Loyal’ to this club for the past forty-four (44) years without a league trophy, and are finally Champions of the fiercest league ever....the English Premier league. That’s the fairytale story of the current League Champions of England, Manchester City.
At the end of what is termed as the craziest season ever in the premier league history, a season filled with loads of twists and turns, even till the final kick, City were crowned Champions of England after a 3-2 victory over QPR. Although they were favourites to come out victorious in the encounter, the drama-filled match left City fans in tears until the final twist which ensured them the trophy. Zabeletta’s goal threw City in front, but QPR brought out tears from Man City’s fans with two successive goals to put the visitors in control of the game. Meanwhile, Man Untied were leading Sunderland with a lone goal from Wayne Rooney. It was at extra-time that Man City got their groove back with two quick successive goals from substitute, Dzeko, and Man City’s Player of the Year, Aguero.
Final Strike!
As at when United’s game ended, they were Champions... but only for 13 seconds, when Sergio Kun Aguero, calmly struck the most important, dramatic goal and decider of the season at the 94th minute of the game. Part of the drama of the game involve the sending off of ‘always-ready-to-explode’ QPR’s captain, Joey Barton- as he earned himself a possible nine-game ban starting from next season.
Marching Orders!
It was really an interesting finale to the craziest season I’ve seen so far in my lifetime...first of its kind to have been decided on goal difference.
Sir Alex congratulated his rivals, but refused to put an end to his mind-games, by saying that it will take City a Century (100 years) to match United’s achievements. In my opinion, that was needless...Sir, you threw the lifeline at them and they grabbed it, so move on!
At the Champions league qualification end, Arsenal managed to secure automatic qualification for next season’s Champions league for the 17th consecutive time. The Gunners needed a 3-2 victory over hard-fighting Westbrom, to secure the third position, finishing above next-door neighbours, Tottenham. Taking a retrospect of the way Arsenal’s season started, that was a great achievement by Wenger and his team.  A 2-0 win, could only ensure fourth position for Spurs. As it stands, all Tottenham fans will be Anti-Chelsea in the Champions league final, as a win for the Londoners will mean that Tottenham drops to the Europa league and give way for Chelsea for defend their title.
Painfully, Bolton were relegated after a 2-2 draw with stoke, ending their eleven-year stay in the Premier league. A late penalty denied the Wanderers from hanging on in the Premier league, as only a win would have guaranteed their stay, since relegation contenders, QPR lost to Champions, Man City. Painful for the coach, Owen Cole...Painful for Fabrice Muamba.... and painful for the entire team.
As City celebrates, we send them hearty Congratulations! But this leaves us with some questions.... Does this signify a long-term power shift in Manchester? Were Clichy, Nasri, and Toure right to have lost faith in Arsenal and jump ship? Did City really ‘buy’ the title? Can the young United team, bear the loss, regroup and come back stronger?
Let’s have your say...
