Madrid Celebrates in DARKNESS
Real Madrid were officially crowned Champions last night....in DARKNESS! After their last game against Mallorca finished 4-1, they were presented the trophy. Cassillas was on the verge of lifting the Cup when...BOOOM!!! the lights in the stadium went off, dampening the celebration of the Spanish giants. But it still ended in style.
Nevertheless, they made history as the team to have had 100 points in a single season- first in Spain and all major European leagues. They also had an all-time high of 121 goals in a season! Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal last night also made him the first player ever to have scored against all 19 rival teams in a single season.
Nistelrooy Announces Retirement!
Former Manchester United Netherland striker, Ruud Van Nistelrooy draws the curtain to his illustrious career which took him from Holland to England, to Spain, to Germany and back to Spain, where he ended his journey in Malaga.
His records and trophies speak Volume. Real Legend...farewell Ruud!
Piers Morgan looses £10,000 to Former Arsenal player, Samir Nasri.
On April 8 after Arsenal beat Man City, it looked impossible for City to be crowned Champions, at least for this season. In a bit to spite Arsenal unfaithful player Nasri, CNN presenter Piers Morgan engaged him in a twitter taunt, and went on to place a bet. He challenged Nasri that Arsenal will lift a trophy before City, and a bet on £10,000 was agreed. The winner was to send the money to a chosen Charity.
Remarkably, City overturned all expectations, and lifted the title, putting Gunner’s fan Morgan, at the wrong end of the bet. As the Gentleman that he is, he paid the money yesterday.
And tweeted:
Nice one Morgan...Proud Arsenal fan...thumbs up!
