Santi
Santiago Cazorla has been confirmed as an Arsenal player, after completing a £16m move last night. After his medical, the 27 yrs old said: ‘I can say I am a new Arsenal player’. His move from Malaga was made easy due to the financial crisis that the club are currently facing.
He is a price midfielder, good at free-kicks, link-plays and also scores a handful of goals. This is a brilliant buy by Wenger, definitely making a big statement for next season. Carzola is Arsenal’s third signing this summer; he joins the striking pair of Giroud and Podolski.
Arsenal are also said to be close to completing a loan move for Real Madrid midfielder, Nuri Sahin. He looks to be a cover for Jack Wilshere who has suffered another setback in his recovery. He will out for the first three months of the new season- that is if everything goes well. My heart sinks whenever I write about the recurrent injury of this brilliant young lad. I hope he doesn’t become another Owen Hargreaves.
Singing Barca?
On another note, there are reliable rumours that Barcelona are wrapping up a deal t to ‘quietly’ sign Arsenal defensive midfielder, Alex Song. That will be a huge blow to Arsenal’s midfield and defence, because he is the only proven midfield cover in the club presently. Moreover, in most cases he has played as central defender when injuries plague. Although, reports also has it that the gunners have kept link with M’vila alive, in case the Cameroonian joins the Spanish giants.
The question is: Is now Wenger responding to the harsh criticisms and demands of fans?
Let’s have your say.
