More Talk…

Caution is still the game played in this summer transfer market. I wonder if the Olympics is serving as a distraction, because all we see these days are just mere speculations that I mostly don’t bother myself on.
Vincent
So far, Vincent Kompany of Man City has signed a six-year deal at the club with an improved weekly wage that makes him join the £200,000-a-week group.  That’s Big money that can make anyone stay with a club, especially when you’re also sure to pick up some medals alongside.
Unto some happy news for the gunners…no, they didn’t sign any new player, but the wage burden on the club will be lightened as there are some expulsions. Old Almunia has found shelter at Watford, after sitting out in cold for some time now. Failed buys C.Y Park, Squillacci and inconsistent Bendter have also been confirm as heading to the exit doors of the emirates, so says le Prof. I guess that will free up the wage list and may encourage addition to the fragile team.
Crocked Wil
On a sad note at the Emirates, Jack Wilshere has been confirmed to sit out till October. The young English Midfielder has been out of action since last summer with an injury that was at first trivialized, but has now cost the player, club and fans a whole year plus wait. It’s really a sorry situation for the young lad. But wait a minute…why are Arsenal players always prone to long term injuries? Van Persie (till of late), Eduardo, Ramsey, Rosicky…..and most of them come back struggling with form. I hope Jack will be what we knew he was growing into before the injury.
Moreover, it was reported that Juventus will offer an improved bid for Van Persie, which will be in the tune of……….sorry I forgot that I said in my last post that I won’t mention a thing on Van Persie’s saga till a definite move is made.
American Tim
Moving on…. Tim Cahill has secured a move from Everton to join Thierry Henry in Newyork Red Bulls. The American club was said to have paid up to £1m for the Australian. Nice move from my perspective. He has paid his dues in the premier league, and has suffered constant injury set-backs. This move will also free up a £70,000 in the wage basket of Everton.
At the other side Merseyside, Liverpool has agreed a £2m loan fee for Andy Carroll. The striker, who was acquired from Newcastle for a whooping £35m, has failed to lived up to the expectations of his bosses, especially the current coach, Rogers. He has now been shipped to Westham where he will reunite with former manager Sam Allardyce, and team mate, Kelvin Nolan. Ok… Rogers has achieved his dream…now let’s see how far his plans work.
Strolling back to London, I hear that Red Rom has stoned Di Matteo with £100m to spend for the summer. Having spent £66m on the Hazard brothers, Marin, and Oscar, RDM is still revving to spray more money! Now that’s what I call “Money Talks”….we can only watch. But should incase they did not find an appropriate play, I am free for grabs…hehehehe
Future Samba
Though we speak football here, the Olympics is big enough to worth our attention; moreover it includes football. I must be quick to say that the opening ceremony was classic! The synchronizations were a beauty to behold. My peak moment was the Mr. Bean’s performance, and the low moment was that unending long list of participating countries. As for the football, nothing spectacular has happened yet. Just that the Spanish team has lost their two opening games, and are as well out of the tournament. That may be a strategy to allow the likes of Mata and De Gea join their teams on time…just saying. The Brazilian team has been both entertaining and brilliant…they have a bright future ahead of them. They are my tournament favorites. On the medal table…as of today, China still sit on top, with USA breathing down their neck.
