The Premier League

Sorry Art...
It was another weekend of grotesque show of football. Arsenal keep appearing on football news headlines...for the wrong reasons. This weekend they repeated their midweek stunt by giving away another two-goal lead. they went in front courtesy goals from Giroud and Podolski, but were quickly pegged back by replies from Bebartov and Kacaniklic before halftime. Fulham gained the lead in the second half through another Bebartov's  goal, before Giroud managed to head Arsenal level again. Mikel Arteta wasted a last minute opportunity to win the game as he missed a penalty. As I have always stressed, the team lack self-confidence, conviction and fighting spirit.
Contrastingly, Manchester United continued in  their burst of unbelievable confidence, carrying out a spree of comebacks that is unprecedented in the history of the premier league. They had another comeback at Villa Park, where they came from two goals down to WIN the game 3-2. Chicharito has upped his game and the team is benefiting greatly.
Flying Pea
In other results, Chelsea drew 1-1 with hard fighting Liverpool, in a game which saw the first goal coming from their inspiring captain, Terry, who was having his first game after his four-game ban. But Suarez had other plans as he pegged Chelsea back with a nicked-in goal.
Tottenham gave away their lead to lose with a 2-1 scoreline to the defending champions, Man city.Goals from Aguero and super sub Dzeko, made sure that Man city remain the only unbeaten side in the league this season.
These results live Man U topping the table with 27 points after playing 11 games, Man City has leapfrogged Chelsea into the second position with 25 points. Chelsea are third with 24 points, while Everton are the surprising occupant of the fourth position, after enjoying a rare blissful start to their season. Arsenal find themselves languishing in the 8th position, having had a stuttering start.
Generally, Man U have proven to be the team to beat to the title. They have started the race like wounded lions, having lost the title last season to bitter rivals by goal difference. Chelsea can also have a say in the race, especially if they are able to keep their focus and make sure their triads- Oscar, Mata and Hazard- stay out of injuries. Arsenal still lack conviction, and may see themselves finishing out of the top four....unless something drastic is done to remedy their present situation.
